Winning Numbers: The Diamond Ranch big man was voted the SoCal Prep Legends boys athlete of the week with 6,066 votes to finish ahead of Arrowhead Christian’s Brandon Castillo with 4,061 votes. Silva had a huge week for the Hacienda League-leading Panthers, winning three basketball games thanks to his huge performances. Silva scored 21 in a big league win over Los Altos and followed it with 26 in a win over West Covina. The Panthers also got a win over El Camino in a nonleague game and Silva delivered 19 points in that one.
